What On is
On is a Swiss running brand founded in Zurich in 2010 by former triathlete Olivier Bernhard together with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and Roger Federer is among its shareholders.
The brand's signature technology is CloudTec: a sole of hollow "clouds" that compress on landing and lock together at push-off. According to company lore, the first prototype was cut from pieces of garden hose. That idea underpins both the Cloudmonster and Cloudsurfer running shoes and the everyday Cloud 5 and Cloud 6.
On is growing fast in Korea: the brand opened its first Seoul stores in November 2025, followed by a standalone On Store Hannam with a running community in March 2026. For its Korean launch On released a collaboration with the Seoul label POST ARCHIVE FACTION.
